Accomplishments

• Re-established fiscal stability to the city’s finances in addressing the RIM Park financing debacle.
• Leadership role in promoting the establishment of the Laurel Creek Headwater Environmentally Sensitive Landscape (ESL) in NW Waterloo.

Moving forward

• Adopt and support a smart growth plan including more public transit and increased core development to live within our means
• Promote clean air and water by reducing the use of pesticides, excess road salt, and idling of vehicles. Protect and enhance our green spaces and environmentally sensitive areas.
• Build our sense of community by supporting neighbourhood associations and volunteer groups.

Ward specific issues

• Ensure that all the citizens concerns are fully addressed prior to making any final decision on the rehabilitation of Clair Lake
• Ensure that any major development complies with smart growth policies and our official plan e.g. proposed development King/Weber
• Enable fair student housing policies and enforce by-laws to maintain existing residential property standards.
